Paul,

I don't have any data that I can compare different engines to, but your 8.1s should be about the equivilent to 315hp diesels in the torque department. You'll likely be swinging a similar sized wheel so your speed performance should be comprarable also. But, like you have already guessed, your fuel burn will be way up there over the diesels.

Good luck and keep up posted with your performance numbers once you're back in the water.
