Many have expressed concern over the high speed engines and also the extended use of aluminum in keeping the weight down.
Like any engine model some will have problems. Most of those problems can be attributed to poor installation, poor up keep and abuse.
I just serviced a 6LP 315hp in a center console charter application approaching 5000 hours with little to no problems.
After changing the timing belt and adjusting valves it started and ran like it was new.No secret except good maintenance and running the engine often as it was designed to do.
Letting your engine sit will do more harm than running them.
