I put a GAM antenna on my B31 Sportfish and LOVE it. It is model TG5SH and is a 10db antenna -- looks unlike standard shakespear as it is not fiberglass, it is a two piece aluminum antenna. I think it is about 10 feet long. Last summer, tucked in my slip, which is in a low hole in a bay, I spoke with a friend who was on his way out on his 41 Viking -- he was 30 miles away and could hear me as if I was sitting next to him -- the only way I heard him was when he called on the cellphone!

It is much, much more powerful than the old fiberglass job I had. I installed as UV indicated with all the protective grease and it has worked flawlessly for 3 years.
