Anyone see this week's episode? They were down at the Bertram factory showing a hull being laid up with Vinylester Resin. John G., the host of the show, then showed a 1973 B31 that he had done as a project boat and it had 1,000s of tiny osmotic blisters. Bertram's VP said that the vinylester will prevent that.
Two things I noted -- they showed a new FIBERGLASS 1,800 plus gallon fuel tank going into a new 63 and stated that the fiberglass with vinylester will not have any chemical/fuel penetration problems -- especially since it was also barrier coated on the inside! Also, the stringer system they used is the same high density foam I just put into my boat. No more wooden stringers in the Bertrams.
Great show!
