I agree with you on not liking a password. It is a bit too close to membership.

Could you use a random pattern generator that was one time use generating a "password" before each post? Somewhat like what I have to do before buying concert tickets from ticketmaster? It is all enmeshed in crosshatches etc, and is different every time. Would that hamper spam or just be another step they would overcome?
