Opened up my tank

Okay everyone, I took the fuel sending unit plate off my tank and looked inside. I don't know if everyone is aware of this but this tank is totally lined with stainless. All the baffles are stainless and the perimeter of the tank, top and bottom is stainless as well. Why am I concerned about the glass then???? I'm just going to have the thing flushed and invest in some really good fuel filters and call it a day!
Did anyone else know that their tank is a stainless "can" encased in fiberglass? Are we to assume that the stainless tank is not sealed and that the fiberglass does in fact come in contact with the gas? Is that how the ethanol is getting at the fiberglass? I really don't want to replace this tank if I can get away with it. What do we think?
Thanks, Paul
