I have an 83 B28 that not only had rotted bulkheads, but a door as well. The bulkheads are not a major problem. You have to remove the door and the jam and then the screws under the jam and all around the bottom and the top. Take the first side panel off and you will see a part of the bulkhead that was bolted like a big tab. Remove the nuts and it should come out easy. I made mine out of 3/4 inch starboard, but I wish now that I had put a little more into it and used 5/8 marine plywood heavily soaked in thinned epoxy and covered with the thin formica inside and out. I would have used white outside and some sort of wood grain on the inside that didn't clash with the interior. If you go that route, you could bond the formica with epoxy on the outside and regular contact cement on the inside or use epoxy on both sides. When I made the door, I used contact cement on both sides. I'm sure it will last a long time. Anyway, mine turned out perfect. I even put an oval shaped portal in the door to give it some character. I replace all my side panels around the cockpit with 1/4 starboard also.
