is the the tank aluminum or glass,.,.,if its aluminum i wouldnt foam aluminum.,.,just traps moisture, if its glass.,.,well ok.,.,.,
.,.,you do need to make up the space between the bottom of the tank and the hull.,.,so it sits on something .,.,.i used fiberglass Putty as u.v, said.,.,and the sand gave me the volume that was needed to use (in putty).,.,.,I squished out and moved the tank to flatten out the sand until i had a good fit then pulled out the tank and then scooped the sand into a pail and the made the putty to the volume of the sand and did it again same procedure with the putty,,,Mold release wax the bottom of the aluminum tank .,.,let the putty go off.,.,and then pop the tank,.,.,and grind of the edges (excess) .,.,sluice way the edges (grind)to let the water run along side the putyy edge and rubber nmat edge., I put a thick rubber mat on top of the flat putty (cut out to size) and glued down to the flat putty surface for the tank to sit on .,.,.,clean .,.,real clean.,..,if its glass fuel tank.,.,procedure not applicable.,., I would coat the tank.,.,with max wax or similar product and then install it.,.,.,maybe max wax it a few times,.,let it dry and then install.,.U R bolting this aluminum tank to the inside stringers?,.,
