RPM Loss

Can someone help me figure out why one of my engines is loosing RPMīs. About 2 days ago my port engine (cummins 2506bta) started loosing about 200 rpms every time we would hit the backside of a wave (climbing a wave) Starboard engine didnt miss a beat...

I was running the engines at about 2400 rpms and crusing at about 20-21 knots but everytime we hit the backside of a wave the port engine would loose RPMs and I could see more smoke comming from the exaust. The port engine oil pressure was at around 45.

Can someone give me any hints as to where to start checking??
