Well Guys, it's that time of the year again...
Dr. Gray, (Head of The Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University), is calling for a 60% net increase in the Tropical Cyclone Activity for this year over that of last year. It's still way too fresh in our memories what an ass kickin' we took in 2005...
There's already, (since early Saturday morning), a Pacific storm brewing off of Baja California.
So, this is just my first "Heads Up" post of what looks like another rocky road ahead for the next 6 or 7 months, so start focusing up!
Below is a condensed side by side comparison of Dr. Gray's hurricane predictions from last year and this.
ATLANTIC BASIN SEASONAL HURRICANE FORECAST FOR 2005Named Storms 13
Named Storm Days 65
Hurricanes 7
Hurricane Days 35
Intense Hurricanes 3
Intense Hurricane Days 7Net Tropical Cyclone Activity 135%
ATLANTIC BASIN SEASONAL HURRICANE FORECAST FOR 2006Named Storms 17
Named Storm Days 85
Hurricanes 9
Hurricane Days 45
Intense Hurricanes 5
Intense Hurricane Days 13Net Tropical Cyclone Activity 195%
Good luck to all in the strike zones and remember: Good Luck is usually more of a result of good planning and preparation...
