Yes my tank was .250" aluminum, and it was fabricated by Stollenworks in Egg Harbor Jersey.

I followed Capt Pat's suggestions, I believe the Aluma Prep 33 was a 2 product process that involved a substance called alodine. I am not positive that I ended up using it, I pretty much just followed the instructions that came with the aluma prep.

It called for scotch brite and water, soaking and scrubbing and rinsing all in a specified time interval... can't recall all the specifics, but the aluma prep product did have instructions.
