Mike I used coal tar on my Stainless aux tank. Just make sure you read the can first.They delived to me a gallon of catalyst instead of a quart. I thought it was 50/50 mix. Wrong! Took weeks to dry. Worked for me after reading the can. If you were close I have a lot left over.
It's not real expensive . Just another kind of epoxy paint with tar in it for underground fuel tanks. Dave k
