Alternator removal

Dumb question - trying to remove the alternator from my 28FB - Mercruiser 228's - Got the bolts off fine but now there appears to be a bushing holding the alternator in place - anyone have experience removing this bushing - awful access and I don't want to put too much pressure on the bracket as its attached to the exhaust manifold. Thanks.
