Al, sorry to hear about that. Basicly what your friend did was wet sand your hull. You may be able to wet sand with a finer grit such as 1000,1500,2000 grit then try to machine polish to see if you can get the shine back. Some paints are so hard thet you cant get the shine back with polishing. Good luck, Ken
