Ethanol and the Chesapeake

A few months ago, when I asked about ethanol around here on the Chesapeake, I got blank stares and no answers. Last week or so, there was an article in the local paper (the Capitol) about ethanol fuel, that was pretty accurate from what I could tell. I just got a copy of the Chesapeake Bay Magazine, and there's a few- page long article about ethanol. This article pretty much covers it, from E10, phase separation, new boats, effect on fuel lines, and the problems with older fglass tanks on Hatts and Berts. There's also been a few discussions and posts on Tidalfish, a web board about fishing that pretty much covers MD and VA. So, for whatever its worth, at least people are getting informed. I think that's a big step in the right direction.
My favorite quotes from the Chesapeake Bay article:
"Like innocent bystanders at a drive-by shooting, owners of some older powerboats are facing costly refits because of a government policy aimed at someone else."
"Boatowners around Long Island Sound have been guinea pigs...."
Good luck this year guys.
