I find it very hard to believe that they have produced 76 boats in a 12 month period. When I was at the factory, I was told that most of there boats take 10 months to build, with five lines going in a relatively small factory. It doesn't add up. Hatteras build 40-50 boats a year with two factories, both about three times the size of Bertram's. I'm guessing it was 20-25 a year pre-360. Probably up to 35 or so.
Everything people love about classic Bertrams is absent from the newest models.
In my opinion, the 360 needs a center-line pod-style helm, with modern single-lever controls, these things are on every new sportfish boat for a reason. Stick a Murray/Release helm chair in there, not these modular fiberglass/plastic ones. Delete trunkside windows. Vee-drives should be replaced, a Cummins engine option should be added. Even the details, why would they paint the windshield frame black? Why does the foredeck have all those grooves in it, why isn't it just smooth? Why are the electrical/washdown hookups out in the open like that, not tucked behind a hatch or door like all the other leading manufacturers? The point I'm trying to make is that Bertram was innovative at one point and wrote the book on these types of boats. If I'm spending Bertram money, I want fiberglassed in thru-hulls a la Viking and Hatteras, corner hawse-pipes, underwater exhaust like the the other guys An ice-chipper option, etc. etc.
