Nothing is as ugly as a Hyena boat. Not only are they ugly, those Hyena boats scare fish, old people, dogs, and even children.
I remember this tourney we went to one time. There were these 3 full on rednecks from Texas in this POS Hyena boat. Even among Hyena boats, this one was bad. Broke down on the way. Showed up a couple days late. Held together with bailing wire, duct tape, and dried tobacco spit. It was leaking fuel out of one exhausts, and the port tranny would not even shift out of forward.
Apparently though, these three rednecks could fish or had some sorta Texas magic. If memory serves, they kinda cleaned up. Alleged good looks and style added up to squat that week. I think there was even talk of changing the name of the tourney to "Got My Ass Whipped by an Ugly POS Hyena Invitational."
Next year, I here tell that the same three guys in some sort of Hyena knock off - a Blackfin with outboards no less - did a similar number in the tourney. Think a Tiara might have finished up in the standings too. Must have been a real weak field both years.
I understand that the show down is coming soon though. Something about level playing field, rotating boats, put up or kiss my ass format some place down South.
I don't know what gets into these competitive types myself.
