Just a point of info for you...

Usually the adhesive manufacturer will have some info on the can or pail telling you what configuration of trowel tooth to use with their specific product. I am doing glue-down hardwood floors in my new house and the mfg of my adhesive was very specific as to which notch configuration to use.. too much and it might be uneven or too squishy.. too little and poor adhesion.

I could not find the special notch configuration that was specified in a standard metal trowel at Lowes or Home Depot.. so I bought a cheap straight edged plastic trowel and bandsawed the V shaped notches into it.. simple and cheap! Now.. too bad the teak and holly flooring isn't.
