Mac, I'd have to disagree with that. 10 is too low at cruise, but 28 is too high. Probably 18-20 would be about right. What rpm are you turning WOT? The turbo heats the intake air a lot when it compresses it, and the aftercooler cools it down some, making it denser and able to burn more fuel. First thing I'd do is the Dawn/water treatment. Take 8 oz of distilled water and stir in one oz. of blue Dawn and spray that in each engine while it's at cruise under load - do the spray (actucally a stream out of a spray bottle works best) over about 3 or 4 minutes, then follow with 6 oz of pure distilled water over a couple of minutes, right into the turbo opening. Hisses like a snake, but does a world of good to clean out the aftercooler. Repeat the process if you see any improvement. If not, take the a/c off and have it boiled out.

Smoke at cruise means not enough air. Does it do the same with the air filters off? Probably a restriction in the aftercooler.
