Well, it came out easily. Almost. I had nightmares about it. a friend came over with a comealong, after waiting for a tow truck with an extension on it, but he never showed. We decided to put a 2x6pad on top of each gunnel on top of a towel and then 2 4'x4' pieces 9' long on top of each other and the comealong chained on top of them. We then put a chain, snaked it through the baffles in the 2 ports on the top of the tank and cranked it tight. Before we did this we took a 3' hand saw and cut the foam on the sides, front and back of the tank. at first i thought the 4x4 would snap or the bottom of the hull would come with the tank as different people told me the tank was glassed to the bottom and other scary stories.well my friend said it,s coming up and we then sawed more of the foam and cranked a little more and pop, up comes the tank with no problems. We got the back up and put a 2x4 across the floor boards in the back and then we picked up the front by hand and put another 2x4 under it . This all took not even 45 minutes. I was amazed after thinking about this for weeks. The tank looked good inside but its a 180 gal and made in 1962. It had ethanol in it. If anyone wants it it is on LI in montauk. NY. It has a little cut approx. 5" in the corner of the filler hole that can be repaired. It comes with the 2 covers.
