I think Pete's boat is probably a lot better than the pictures show, but one other thing for a true 31 fancier to consider is that it is a 1961. What year did Bertram begin building 31's? 1961! When I bought my express, I had no idea of the year model until I looked at the paperwork the seller provided later - documentation papers. When I saw it was a 1962, I was elated. The only thing that would have made me happier would have been if it had been a 1961. If I could afford a second boat right now, I'd be knocking at Pete's door.
