Pete,
I'm going to brutally honest with you, so don't take it personally.
You might try some new pictures. The pictures that are up make your boat looked somewhat aged/in need of some TLC. Particularly the one at the top of the ad that is really the only full shot of your boat. I don't know whether the water is off color or the sun was blocked by something, but that photo makes your boat look like it's been ridden hard and put away wet. I'm sure it's just the photo. However, if you get on Yachtworld.com or Boats.com and look through the available inventory of boats and what the asking prices are, your photos look a lot more like the gas boats in the $45,000 range instead of the $55,000 inventory. I've linked an ad for a '69 Express below. From the photos you have up, your Express looks analogous to the Express in the ad. That boat is listed at $49,900.
The inventory that is listed for $55,000 typically looks like the FBC in this ad:
http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/boatDetails.jsp?currency=USD&units=Feet¤cyid=100&boat_id=1341362&checked_boats=1341362&back=%2Fcore%2Flisting%2Fcache%2FsearchResults.jsp%3Fblc%3D2821%26toPrice%3D75000%26manc%3D967%26uom%3D126%26currency%3DUSD%26units%3DFeet%26sm%3D3%26duom%3D126%26wuom%3D126%26currencyid%3D100%26currencyid%3D100%26luom%3D126%26toLength%3D31%26fromLength%3D31%26ps%3D20%26ps%3D20%26man%3DBertram%26slim%3Dquick%26prc%3D38077%26so%3D4%26searchPage%3D%252Flisting%252Fcache%252Fboats_for_sale_qs.jsp%26n%3D1%253A1%253A58437%253A66124%253A37&searchtype=
The photos of the $55k FBC make it look considerably fresher than the photos of your Express.
You might also try completely redoing your ad. I think the fact that you have an ad that started the listing at $75,000 and is now down to $60,000 (or really $55,000 now) is probably hurting you. Psychologically, I think people see that and either think you're trying to scam them or that there is something wrong with the your B31 because you're dropping the price by $20,000 (more than a $25% reduction).
Also, there is a listing for another express that looks more updated than yours. I think that boat is probably hurting you as well. While I think that listing is priced a little on the high side for a gas boat these days, I think you're facing an uphill battle versus that boat. Your ad started at $75,000 and you're now down to $55,000. The other express is currently listed for $79,000. Both starting points for both ads are within $4,000 of each other. I think if I were in the market for an express I would be using your ad and price reductions as a basis for my argument that the seller of the other boat needs to come down. With the updates, his boat shows in photos as a better value than yours.
Finally, it's just a tough, tough time to sell a gas boat with twin 454's. It costs about $800 to fill up a 220 gallon tank at a reasonable fuel dock right now. Here on the West Coast, it's closer to $900. We've all enjoyed the incredible fact that our boats have actually appreciated over the last few years. For those of us with gas boats (myself included), I think there is a market value correction that is currently underway. Gas prices aren't just hurting us at the pump. The flip side is the repowering business seems to be very robust right now. Just be thankful you don't own a gas powered Tiara that you're trying to sell.
I hope this helps. I'm just being objective and hope you don't take my comments the wrong way.
