Ethanol again

I wrote my Senator and he wrote me back saying that the Senate passed version of H.R. 6, the "Energy Policy Act" establishes an 8 billion gallon national ethanol standard by 2012. He (Richard Baker,R-LA) says this provision is a "give away" to corn producing states. Further,he said the EPA estimates that the provision will add 4-8 cents to a gallon. Still further, he said this language is not in the House-passed bill.
It may be stricken from the final House-Senate compromise and he wants that.
