Kevin,

Let me be a bit more specific.

If you shoot through the hull with an oil bath, you will lose about 30% of the effectiveness of the ducer. I just put in the 1000 watt and it is a huge mother. But it will do a nice job for me, but I am expecting to really use it in the canyon. Inshore it is serious overkill.

If you install a block inside the hull, don't use the 5200. I just removed one this past weekend and it was done in life caulk. It was tough enough with that. If it had been 5200, it would not have come out.
