Dick hit it on the head. You have to maintain the hatch gutters and drains. All drains must have hoses running down into the bilge. The drains and hoses will clog with debris regularly. Not a good idea to use a raw water washdown or flood rinse with salt water from a bucket. The water will find its way to Racors, motor mounts, transmissions, etc. I use a fresh water washdown hooked up to my 50 gallon freshwater tank. Rudder bearings will last a long time if you keep CX on them and cover them with a shield such as a small inverted bowl. (modified for autopilot linkage) My refrigerator also had corrosion as did other fasteners near the cabin door. I think that came from leaving the cabin door open while running. A fine salt spray will blow in under most running conditions. I would be suprised if the boat had taken on water. Mostly neglect.
