I have to believe that operating costs have to be cheaper in Mexico. My big expenses are Dockage which runs me almost $4000. We have seasons, which you won't have. These cost me close to $2000 for winter haulout, winterizing and shrink-wrapping, then about the same in the spring because the environmental laws (you won't have) dictate the marina do your bottom and the marinas charge list price for the paint, and a whole lot of nickle-and diming on rags, thinner, rollers and brushes and bullshit stuff like that. If you're handy, most of what they do, you can do at less than half their prices. Operationally, it's fuel and general maintenance as well as bait and incidental breakage. Things WILL break. If you get a boat with Cummins or Yanmars, figure that you're going to get 1.5 mpg. so fuel costs will be severely affected by how much you use the boat and the cost of Mexican Fuel. Good luck! Walter
