Hello guys,
I am a b33 owner, a regular lurker on this site, and pretty active on the b33 site.
First I have to say, I agree with UV on this one, let's see what is really happening before jumping to conclusions,
second,I'm pretty sure the specs you are refering to are out of the CFRs covering INSPECTED VESSELS. Our boats will never be an inspected vessel. One of the requirements for a boat to carry more than six passengers FOR HIRE is to be an inspected vessel and the rules for such are something to behold. Generally speaking, an inspected vessel will be built under the supervision of the coast guard to the specifications to meet the rules. One of those rules is to be constructed of steel, aluminum , wood, or FIRE RETARDANT FIBERGLASS . Since our boats are not fire retardant, they will never be an inspected vessel and therefore will never be able to carry more than six people FOR HIRE. Plus there are alot of other oddball requirements that we don't want our boats to be, to be considered an inspected vessel.
Personally, I'm going to fill my tank when it gets good and empty to avoid mixing the old and new and then I'm going to suck a few inches of possible water off the bottom before filling and then I'm going to keep an eye on the fuel to see if it's changing color. I have already ordered spare fuel filters. Of course I have an '87 so I should have a more eth proof tank but I don't believe that10% eth will eat any tanks as long as it's still mixed with gas.
That's my two cents.
I hope to meet a bunch of you guys at OB in august.
