I used the pre-made Nida -Core Honeycomb sheets. Very light and very very strong. 3/4 would work just fine. About 240 a sheet but it's preglassed out of a mold and looks like it's vaccum bagged. I used it for my engine boxes, walkway and step. Had left over so I also used it for the salon deck/sole also.I just finished using 545 primer over the Gelcoat which I originally applied and then used two coats of Imron. Man looks good! Sure can sink Denaro into our boats. Dave K
