This could go on for ever, but to make a long story short.... USCG will not approve a stainless tank on a charter boat. Aluminum is cheaper and easier to work with, but there are coorosion concerns and etching with ethenol. Unless you have a huge budget, stainless has it's own weaknesses, called crevice corrosion. New vynlester fiberglass tanks don't have either of these issues, but will be very, very expensive, even compared to stainless.
