Ethanol at my BP-Amoco

About a year ago we received notice from BP that a conversion to 10% Ethanol would take place soon and that we needed to prepare. We were directed to remove all water from tanks above 1/4 inch. We used "reformulated water/water alcohol indicating paste". There was a severe warning that this must be done. Also we were to have supply of a new type of filter which would clog if it became water saturated.
We converted and nothing happened and has not shown a problem in a year or so.
My point, I took home a tube of water finding paste and plan to stick my 1987-B28 fuel tank, replace with 10 micron filters with water seperator and call it a day. And do it every time I use the engines.
