Our boxes were custom built. Joe did the same in his boat. When we repowered a few years back we had the exhaust go outboard of the stringer so it would leave us the option of putting the in deck boxes in, if we ever had the boat redone. it works out perfectly, the access to the bilge area is pretty good when you take the boxes out.
