In Response To: Water in Ethanol fuels (Peter)

First, I'm sure after reading your post that I know alot less about it than you. The marina where I fuel was told to be sure to keep alot of filters on hand for their system, and that when the filters got too much water in them, they wouldn't be able to pump anymore fuel until the filters were changed.

My problem with the "as little fuel as possible" approach is that I fish in the Chesapeake, and don't usually burn much fuel (not really a problem with regard to fuel costs)--and I realy don't want to stop and get 25-50 gallons every time I go out.

The more I read about this, the more I'm going to be sure to drain off my Racors as a matter of course. Typical start-up or shut-down may be check fluids, drain off racors, start, check for fuel leaks, put boxes down and go.

Are we having fun yet?
