The kids lacrosse and soccer games were rained out so we made a beeline to the Smithsonian to see Randall's exhibit. Incredible ! I had seen pictures of the pieces that he had done for Capt. Patrick and Uv and the website that Mike O put up for Randall, but seeing his work from inches away and not being able to tell its not what it appears to be is incredible. When we arrived @ the museum I told the kids that Randall had won a competition, there was a large sign immediately upon entering with Randalls name and booth number on it indicating he was "top dog". As we were looking for his booth we finally saw one that was surrounded by people. Of course it was Randall. Randall picked up his pieces and would show them to you from any angle-my kind of art show. I asked about Mike's chart and Randall held it out for all to see and people were in awe. Randall had a smile from ear to ear the entire time. If you would like to check it out here is the link for the show. Click on the book and then exhibitors and then wood. You then have to scroll through the different artists until you get to Randall Rosenthal. Well worth your time. As you look at these understand that these are solid blocks of wood intricately carved and painted.
Looking forward to meeting up with Uv Tuesday night.
