Wanna' Bitch to the Right Agency? *LINK*

As Bruce pointed out earlier, bitchin' about the ethanol problem amongst ourselves on this or other bulletin boards does little in the way of changing things...
Some of you, (a very few some indeed), have begun to address the problem at different levels. Newspapers are an OK way of getting to those of the general public that bother to read a letter you've sent to the Editor. Letters & phone calls to your local, state, & national reps will help. Contacting the government bureaucracies can be like butting your head into a brick wall, but is still helpful.
The principle bureaucracy that's responsible for most of this ethanol fiasco is the EPA...
Bitchin' to the EPA can be done by visiting their "Gasoline Fuels" web page at: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/gasoline.htm. That page has several contacts listed.
I believe that best contact to the Coast Guard would be by their Boating Safety email address at: uscginfoline@gcrm.com or better yet, call them at: 800-368-5647, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (EST).
Another lobby group other than Boat USless are the various Marine Industries Associations. These are usually state organization and you'd have to find one for your state. A Google start can be found at: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Marine+Industries+Association
The bottom line is that nothing will happen until there are enough "Qualified Voices" banging down every door of opportunity demanding change. To make demands, you need to be well armed with information which supports your cause.
A "Qualified Voice"? One that comes from a tax payer, voter, boater, (especially one with gas engines), who's got the balls enough to stand up and be counted!
I formatted a search index of all of the previous posts containing the word "ethanol" from our board. There's some real good info within that list. Especially from both Peter & Harv. There's some ammo, the rest depends on you...

Patrick
