i looked into the avgas route.
the transportation of the avgas turned out NOT to be the biggest problem. avgas is taxed differently than autogas. there are stacks of paperwork that need to be completed by the buyer. in no uncertain terms it states the fuel is to be used for aviation use only. this really makes sellers leary of dispensing to someone waiting in line behind a plane with jerry jugs.
