I agree with the idea of the vinyl ester lining to me this makes the most sense. However, read the last paragraph in the link, are we looking at a real problem or are we playing Chicken Little? I had bad fuel in my 25 and messed up carbs. I rebuilt the carbs, had the old gas pumped out, new gas put in and then it was pumped out too. We then inspected the tank it looked clean. I thing that a large amount of what we are see is old bad gas and years of varnish. I have had no further problems, not a lot of hours, but every thing has run fine since then. I will probably open up tanks, clean, grind down and vinyl ester coat just to be safe in the next year of two. I will definitely keep an eye on carbs, filters and plugs. I read an article a few months ago about putting carburetor cleaner in the fuels water separators then running engines to keep carbs clean. Has any one done this? Seems it might be a little extreme to me.
