John - many of us with Cummins have done the aluminum tower mounts off the original stringers. The drift is a 'U' cap of aluminum, say 1/4" stock over the stringers, bolted thru the stringers with 1/2" s.s. bolts (use Tefgel on the bolts, and some 4200 to seal the thru holes) and weld up a tower assembly to hold up the front engine mounts, welding off the stringer cap, and most of us mount the rear on the gear, a much shorter tower. Works good, very stiff mount. I have some pix of mine somewhere if you want to look.
