Cutting the top off, I would think that would be the best way to properly clean the tank. Maybe putting in more access plates would work as well.

I passed along this info as some people where toying with the idea of opening up the tank, reglassing and then sealing again.

Personally I will be going with a new fabrication, most likely Aluminum.
