Gentlemen,
Both UV and Bruce have valid points and Bruce has certainly seen a lot of boat fire results.
I can relate to an expierence on my bride's older Mercedes. We were coming back from my Mums place several years ago. On the interstate an injector fuel line broke spilling Diesel fuel all over the engine compartment. I called the 1-800 number for mercedes service. The guy on the other end said" Good thing you have a Diesel" "If you had a gasoline you'd of been a goner". He said it would be safe for me to drive it that way to my nearest dealer/service center. I did just that.Drove it 35 miles to a truck stop. So from my experience Diesel is miles and miles safer than gasoline. It is because of the fear of accidental dischgrge and shutoff that I have not installed them in my engine compartments. I carry 3 extinguishers all full and up to date. You know what. Maybe carrying a resperator on board is not a bad idea.If I had gassers it is a no brainer. I had them on my old B25. Dave K
