Does anyone have a RPU80 pump for a Simrad/Robertson autopilot . I have been told that my steering problem has been a faulty pump (though this was by my diesel mechanic, and not necessarily an autopilot authority) After disconnecting the pump, I have steering, but obviously no autopilot.

I contacted Simrad about a replacement pump.....which is available for $850. At the Dania boat flea market I bought a RPU160 for $30, but now am worried that this will not mesh (too big) with the present ram.

I'm still not convinced that the problem is with the pump, but it's almost impossible to get a Simrad service here in the keys( at a tolerable price).
Any input will be most welcome.
