Fireboy engine shut off install question

I have always had two automatic fire extinquishers in my engine compartments. When I bought the boat years ago, I bought the extinquishers. They are Fireboy refillable units, and I believe they should be there.
When I repowered with diesel engines I found out I needed to buy a emergency shut off that would kill the engines in the event of a discharge, either accidental or otherwise. This was to prevent the diesel engine from ingesting the extinguishing agent and killing the engine forever.
I have not been able to find anyone willing to install this control, as no one wants the liability for a failure, with a burned up engine as a result.
Thus I will be entering my third season without extinguishers, and I don't like it.
Has anyone found a solution to this? I am wondering, as I see risk on both sides. If I use the extinguisher, I am vulnerable to killing an engine in the event of an accidental discharge. If I don't put in the controller.
If I run without the extinguishers, well, that is not a great option either.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dug
