I spoke to him in January about repairing my AP1000 whcih has a damaged head unit. I've haven't actually sent him my unit as I've been looking on e-bay (just missed one a while back). I may just hold out another year and replace the whole thing.

At anyrate if you do replace with a simrad unit( they bought robertson) you should be able to just plug your old hyd pump and rudder feed back into the newer control unit. At this point it's kinda plug and play (with the exception of a GPS interface). Shouldn't be too much work. I had a quote of $1800 -$2k with me reusing my old pump and rudder feedback. The install you should be able to do, or find someone to do it for a 12pk of suds.
