Careful using stainless. It is not recomended for hot sea water applicatons (above 180 deg F). Clorides will cause stress corrosion cracking particulary in the welds and heat affected zone (seen it time and time again at my work). Hastelloy C276 would last forever, but it is quite expensive.
Monel is also a good choice and affordable. I had mine fabricated using a 3" sch 10 monel LONG radius elbow with a stub on each end welded inside a 4" sch 10 304L SHORT radius elbow -- fit perfectly. My thought was the 4" would be cooled by the sea water (and I was too cheap to buy a 4" monel elbow). My only problem has been a weld leak at the inlet of the 4" elbow (hottest spot the 304L sees + welding dissimmilar metals). I had the welder make a lap joint flange to bolt to the exhaust outlet for easy adjusting. Came out nice.
