I am not sure about the alcohol; but I use acetone. Acetone will remove uncured resin and it also removes any sanding durt, wax and oils on the surface prior to epoxy. That also works on polyester to get it thin so it will penetrate wood better. Epoxy is better for any job around a Bertram in my opinion.
