Last time I was in DC -- last May, I stayed at the George Hotel, which is in Georgetown. Convenient for me because I was speaking at the law school. Nice hotel and if I remember right, it was not outrageously priced. However, lots of modern art throughout the hotel/room -- very "contemporary."
