Diesel Wet Exhaust Elbow Question

Bruce. Is it worth it to upgrade to a 316L alloy for wet exhaust elblow on my 250 diesels. My starboard one is about gone as my welder told me he did the best he could but I should think about a new one as it's rotted. ( 5" )Marine Manifold wants $495 but I think it's a 304 Alloy . Stainless in FL uses 316L but they want $750 each. I can get a stock Volvo one for $680 but it's an inferior alloy one and the flange is another $52.00 plus welding another $70. So now where at $811 for a stock one that will not last real long. Seems like a no brainer to me. What 's your take Dr. Dave K
