Ah the joys or running such an event. The marina,hotel rooms, food prep, booze, getting sponsors, event shirts, event gifts, getting raffle items, keeping track of 100's of emails, and 100's of phone calls, making ten different lists and checking them every five minutes, getting folks to committ in a timely matter (the least of my problems thanks guys). All the while you put your credit card on the line. Welcome to the world of event organization. Somebody help this guy. But here is the major stumbling block. The old story of "too many cooks spoil the broth". There are so many little details that only one person can be responsible. Thank God I have help; but that help has to be delegated. Someone still has to make damn sure all the dots get connected. The Help that is best is when someone steps up to plate and says I will handle this aspect and you can count on me and I will deliver and report my progress. So if you want to help make damn sure you have the time and energy.
