Russ - there are still a lot of new in the box mechanically controled 6BTAs out there in dealer inventory they can sell off legally with full factory warranty. If I had to replace my old 6BTA 250's today, I'd go with the electronic 305 hp 24 valve engines. Much better fuel economy, very quiet, and Cummins,in my view, has the best warranty and customer support in the business. Don't be scared of new tech from a world class manufacturer - like the injector problems on the 4BTA 250's, they will make any problem good.
