There are a few, most include some type of hard wood or epoxy coated plywood and lots of 5200.
We just replaced the main intakes because the previous owner used a small starboard backer on each side which leaked.
The method I chose was similar to Capt. Pats running gear backer.
I used one 3/4" thickness of marine plywood coated on both sides with glass and west epoxy, this was then epoxied to the bottom and then glassed in place. The existing thru holes were re-opened and the hull bottom backer plates and thru hull were sanded and wiped down with acetone.
Enough 5200 was placed on the intake so that it was visibly oozing out around 100% of the installation, the nut was then locked down using the appropriate sized wrench and then any excess 5200 was cleaned with acetone.
The whole assembly is then allowed to cure before the rest of the fittings are installed.
Done correctly it should last a Bertrams lifetime.Good Luck
JP
