Ours has the same thing. Bigger bow in winter dead flat in the summer. Make sure the channel fits flush. Worst case is that you'll have to pin it down in the high corner. Even the guys that put new plywood backers have this happen, consider it a quirk.
There's always new hatches, but in my case not this year.
